Ugh! These Are the Bad Habits We’re Breaking This Year

December 15, 2020February 11, 2024 Francis Colon Leave a comment

As we bid farewell to the chaos that was last year (seriously, can we get a refund?), it’s time to tackle the one thing that’s been holding us back from greatness: our good ol’ pals, procrastination, self-doubt, and lack of discipline. Yep, they’re like the dysfunctional trio we never asked for, but hey, at least they make for some entertaining stories, right?

So grab a snack (or five – let’s not judge), kick back, and get ready to laugh your way through this comedic guide to finally getting your act together in the new year. Trust me, if we can’t laugh at ourselves, then who can?

We’re all guilty of procrastinating from time to time (or, you know, all the time). Whether it’s binge-watching Netflix, scrolling endlessly through social media, or staring blankly at the ceiling, we’ve turned procrastination into a fine art. So why fight it? Embrace your inner procrastinator and wear that Netflix binge like a badge of honor. Just maybe set a timer so you can eventually, you know, get stuff done.

“Sometimes we self-sabotage just when things seem to be going smoothly. Perhaps this is a way to express our fear about whether it is okay for us to have a better life.”

Maureen Brady

The silent killer of dreams and ambitions. Whether it’s convincing ourselves that we’re not good enough or finding creative ways to shoot ourselves in the foot, self-sabotage is like the annoying little brother we never wanted. But fear not, my friends, because the first step to overcoming self-sabotage is acknowledging that, well, it’s kind of ridiculous. So go ahead, laugh in the face of self-sabotage, and show it who’s boss.

Doubt, the unwelcome party guest who always shows up uninvited and overstays their welcome. But here’s the thing about doubt: it’s like a bad stand-up comedian – it’s only funny until you start taking it seriously. So the next time doubt comes knocking, put on your comedy cap and give it the old “ha-ha, very funny” routine. Trust me, laughter is the best medicine for doubt.

Lack of Discipline, the mythical creature that we’ve all heard about but never actually seen in the wild. But here’s a secret: discipline isn’t some elusive creature that only exists in the realm of productivity blogs and self-help books. It’s more like a muscle that you can flex and strengthen over time. So go ahead, start small, and give your discipline muscle a workout. Who knows, you might just surprise yourself.

So there you have it, my fellow procrastinators, self-saboteurs, doubters, and undisciplined souls – a comedic guide to finally getting your act together in the new year. Remember, life’s too short to take ourselves too seriously, so go ahead, laugh in the face of chaos, and show the world what you’re made of.

Here’s to a year filled with laughter, growth, and maybe, just maybe, a little less procrastination.
